Membership Requirements:
To Become an NLERA Member you must:
- Be an active duty recruiter, human resources specialist or applicant investigator for a recognized law enforcement department, corrections agency, government agency, military service or major private security firm.
- Support in writing and action diversity hiring practices and principals including the hiring of women, ethnic minorities, veterans and disabled individuals.
- Fulfill all application requirements and maintain updated contact information.

Membership Categories:
Local Agency Member – Any active duty recruiter, human resources specialist, or applicant investigator who recruits public safety personnel for a recognized MUNICIPLE, CITY or COUNTY law enforcement, corrections, or other related government agency.
State Agency Member – Any active duty recruiter, human resources specialist, or applicant investigator who recruits public safety personnel for a recognized STATE law enforcement, corrections, or other related government agency.
Federal Agency Member – Any active duty recruiter, human resources specialist, or applicant investigator who recruits public safety personnel for a recognized FEDERAL law enforcement, corrections, or other government agency.
Tribal Law Enforcement Agency – Any active duty recruiter, human resources specialist, or applicant investigator who recruits public safety personnel for TRIBAL law enforcement, corrections, security or other government agency.
Campus Agency Member – Any active duty recruiter, human resources specialist, or applicant investigator who recruits public safety personnel for a recognized SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE law enforcement OR public safety agency.
Private Security Industry Member – Any active duty recruiter, human resources specialist, applicant investigator or trainer engaged in managing, supporting, recruiting, or providing training the recruitment of candidates for law enforcement, military or security positions on behalf of a major Private Security firm.
Military Service Member – Any military service recruiter, human resources specialist, or applicant investigator who recruits public safety personnel for a US Military Service or affiliated branch agency.
Membership Fees:
There is no membership fee, but membership is subject to approval and confirmed identity / employment with a agency. NLERA reserves the right to reject and terminate membership for any reason at any time.
